Arrival in New Farm

23 Hazelwood Street
The first instance of the QUINN family being in the Brisbane area was when they were recorded as new voters on the electoral roll in the subdivision of Merthyr, which is a small section of the suburb of New Farm, in a bend of the Brisbane River.

The electoral roll was published on the 29th of August 1952 and it records John Noel QUINN and Imelda Mary (whose maiden name was noted as EDWARDS) as living at 23 Hazelwood Street. This is only seven doors away from 5 Sydney Street in New Farm where the family would be living 1969-70.
