Imelda Mary QUINN

When John Noel QUINN joined the Royal Australian Navy on the 30th of August in 1948, his wife, Mary QUINN, is noted as living at 80 King Street, Walton, Felixstowe in Suffolk, England.

Imelda is recorded on the electoral roll in Queensland as either 'domestic duties' or as a nurse.

When Imelda is first listed on the electoral roll in Queensland in 1952 in the subdivision of Merthyr, her maiden name is noted as EDWARDS.

Imelda is listed at 23 Hazelwood Street, Merthyr in 1952, then at 16 Hunter Street, Southport in 1959, then 150 Moray Street, New Farm in 1963, then sometime before August in 1968 Imelda and her family are living at 5 Sydney Street, New Farm. In 1975 Imelda is listed as living at 12/151 Moray Street, New Farm and her youngest daughter, Roslyn, is listed as living with her in March 1977.

The last time Imelda is listed as living in Moray Street is 1984. In 1997 there is a listing on the electoral roll for an Imelda QUINN at Bindawalla Gardens, Bruce Highway, Burpengary, which is just north of Brisbane. This Imelda continues to be listed there until 2003.

Most recently, there are two listings for two Imelda Mary QUINNs. One is in Stafford Heights and it has been established that this is not Imelda who was married to John Noel QUINN. The other Imelda Mary Quinn is listed as living in Gleneld South which is in South Australia.
